Proceed to Irkutsk. Irkutsk has a rich history that dates back to 17th century. After the Decembrist Revolt of 1825, many Russian artists, officers, and nobles were sent into exile to Siberia for their part in the revolt against Tsar Nicholas. Irkutsk became the major centre of intellectual and social life for these exiles. You will see many of their wooden houses, adorned with ornate, hand-carved decorations. Late evening, transfer to the train station to board train to Krasnoyarsk.
