Transfer to our cozy eco-lodge (3 hours), accommodation in comfortable wooden houses with en-suite facilities just a few meters away from the lake shores. We drive up to the mountains for a sunset photosession at the observation point with the best views over Maloe Sea and Baikal. The location is famous for being the old shamanism center and we will even see a few artefacts. Arrive Irkutsk in the morning. Take a transfer to Buryat Ust-Orda village (1 hour). Come into the real Buryat yurt, be greeted by ancient traditions. Buryats will introduce you to national folklore - songs and dances, throat singing. Meet the Buryat shaman. The landlady will teach you to cook the Buryat national dish - buuza. Enjoy Buryat lunch.
After dinner in the lodge, it's time to experience Siberian banya (optional) and to prepare for our adventure. Winter is the perfect time to feel the power of the world's largest and deepest freshwater lake when it's unrivaled beauty is most amazing.
Don't miss a chance to skate on the world's largest natural open air skating rink. Here, at Maloe Sea, of at Olkhon island the other day, you will find this attraction amusing and exciting. Even if you never had the skating experience before.
If you are not skating, there other dozens of other activities to try at the shores of Baikal. Trekking, hiking, biking, buggy tour, ice fishing and, of course, famous Baikal Kiss.
In winter, you can drive this flat and slippery ice surface by literally any exciting means of transport. Driving license is required to rent the equipment.
