After breakfast, take off for a snow ride to stunnig Kizhi Island, one of the oldest open-air historical, architectural and ethnographic museums in Russia. An outstanding monument of national architecture - the Transfiguration Church has stood here for over 300 years. Kizhi is one a few Russian UNESCO World Heritage Sites and absolute must see.
The island has preserved a unique ensemble of monuments of Russian wooden architecture masterpieces.The chapels, huts, barns and mills transported here from the surrounding villages, complementing the main ensemble, demonstrate a variety of techniques, types, forms of Old Russian architecture, in which the traditions and fantasy of the master are woven together.
We return to the town by another route. Podelniki village, Oyatevschina, Unitskaya Guba, Pegrema village, Kedozero village. Total driving distance 80 km today. Hot lunch is served en route.
We will also experience Russian ice fishing today at one the frozen lakes we will be passing by. We stop, catch fish and voila- you have your dinner today! Transfer to Petrozavodsk (90 km) and dinner in our of the most loved local resyatrants, Gornitsa. Night in the city hotel with amenities.
