The lake freezes entirely, except for a small section of 15-20 km at the source of the Angara River. The purity and transparency of the ice is due to the features of the climate and the lake itself, and its thickness reaches 2 meters. The small amount of snow that falls there is blown off and grinding the ice to mirror. This is it, the famous Baikal Ice, natural phenomenon in the heart of Siberia.
