After having breakfast, you are taken to the valley of the Katun River, where after checking into a guesthouse by the river, rafting awaits you, for which these lands are famous. Rafting down the Katun River gives a lot of vivid emotions for both adults and young travelers, and also allows you to capture the beautiful nature of Altai from a different angle.
After finishing rafting, you go to a local apiary to taste real Altai honey, considered one of the best in Russia. Altai is the largest producer of honey in Russia, here you can learn about life of bees, try and buy the tastiest of Altai honeys and bee products as well as unique herbal teas.
Acquaintance with the history of missionary work in Altai: visit a Christian monastery located on the tiny island of Patmos, in the middle of the Katun River. Walking up to the island across a wooden footbridge offers truly mesmerizing views. You will see the prison of the Znamensky convent, and also visit the Orthodox Church of John the Theologian on the island of Patmos. Stepping along the "goat trail" above Katun burrowing below, you will see wonderfulviews of the Seminsky ridge and the "Sartakpay Gate." From a bird's view you can see the panorama of the confluence of the Chemal and Katun rivers - some distance they flow synchronously, then merging into a single stormy stream. In the evening return to your hotel in Chemal area.
