Transfer to Lovozersky Tundras. Lovozero is the top destination of Kola Peninsula for Aurora Borealis viewing, there are very high chances to observe it directly at the eco lodge. The observatory in Lovozero is the only geophysical observatory on the Kola Peninsula. It was built in 1957 specifically to observe the polar lights and to study the geomagnetic field, cosmic radio radiation and make conclusions about "the cosmic weather" above the Earth. Visit the husky park, meet cute dogs and take a husky sleigh ride through tundra. There are over 50 dogs in the park. Both kids and adults will enjoy playing and communicating with these cute dogs.
Check-in at a tundra house. There is one bedroom for 2 people and second floor can accommodate 4-6 people comfortably. We recommend this option to families and friends travelling together. Your guide will take you to the Husky Farm, where you will get learn about their breeding, communicate with the dogs, feed them, play and make photos. Ride a sleigh through snow covered taiga.
Special winter snow Saami clothes and snow boots will keep you warm even if it's Arctic cold outside. The house features an exclusive sky camera, so you can watch Aurora staying warm in the house and know for sure when it's proper time to get dressed in a Saami clothes and go outside to take pictures. You don't need to hunt for Aurora anymore!
Then take off for an 1 hour snowmobile ride through tundra. Otherwise, enjoy the ride as a passenger. Kids from 4 to 10 are welcome in a sleigh.
We will feed deer and learn about reindeer life.
Saami are indigenous people of Finland and Kola Peninsula. Take a Saami culture tour, learn about Saamш culture and traditions. We will take a change to speak to a real reindeer breeder, if one happens to be around.
