Today we return to the past, back to the city’s first days, with a visit to the place where St Petersburg was founded, by the Tsar Peter the Great. The fort of Peter and Pavel is now the last home for the members of the Romanov Royal dynasty.
We then go back to the twentieth century and visit a real warship named “Aurora”, which, we believe, made the famous first shot that started the Revolution of 1917, which changed the world forever. Special permission is required to go inside, so you need to book in advance. The “Aurora” is one of the city’s most well-known symbols.
We shall continue this day with a visit to the Russian museum for its world famous Russian art collection. There are also collections of traditional toys and national crafts you will not see anywhere else in the world. We will teach you how to play “beer’yul’kee”—the ancient game of Russian kids.
